(Sept. 13, 2011) – Plans are underway to broadcast Monitor Monday and Talk-Ten-Tuesday live from the 83rd AHIMA Convention & Exhibit scheduled to take place Oct. 1-6 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, according to publisher Chuck Buck.
“We’re working on the engineering and other logistical aspects of broadcasting live from the exhibit,” Buck said. “Already we’re blocking out seven one-hour segments to air beginning Sunday, Oct. 2 through Tuesday, Oct. 4.”
Buck said that both Monitor Monday and Talk-Ten-Tuesday will originate live from the booth — No. 540 — at their regular time slots. Both half-hour shows air at 10 a.m. EDT.
“We hope to extend the AHIMA experience to those who will not be able to attend,” Buck added. “To that end, we are booking well-known healthcare professionals to appear throughout the various parts.”
One of the highlights, Buck noted, will be the Virtual Monitor Receptions slated for 5 p.m. EST on Monday and Tuesday afternoon. Randomly selected listeners could receive free e-books from the ICD University Bookstore.
